Materials

Hook: 4mm

Scissors

ss – slip stitch


Body

Using yarn A, ch15.

R1: sc into 2nd ch from hook, 13sc, turn.

R2: sk a st, 4ss, 7sc, ss, turn.

R3: sk a st, ss into 2nd st, 5sc, ss, fasten off.

R4: with the RS facing you, turn upside down and attach yarn B into first ch on right, (ch1, sc), 9sc, 4ss, fasten off.


Tail Fin

Using yarn A, ch5.

Fin 1: ss into 2nd ch from hook, sc, 2hdc.

Fin 2: ch6, ss into 2nd ch from hook, sc, 2hdc, ss into beginning ch, fasten off with long tail for sewing.

Sew onto the body.


Big Fins

Make 3.

Ch4, ss into 2nd ch from hook, sc, hdc, fasten off with long tail for sewing.

Sew these onto the body in the middle at the top, about halfway down the body, and at the back just in front of the second one.


Small Fins

Ch2, sc into second ch from hook, fasten off.

Sew onto body at the back between the tail and top fin.


Eye

Using yarn C, sew an eye onto your shark.

Strawberry Pouch - Free Crochet Pattern

Pattern Notes

  • Stitches in (brackets) all go into the same stitch.

  • Turning ch2s count as a dc.


Pouch

Using yarn A, ch22.

R1: dc into 3rd ch from hook, 18dc, (4dc) in last st, 19dc down the other side of the chain you just worked into, (2dc) into the last st, ss to ch2.

R2: ch2, dc all around, ss to ch2.

R3-11 : repeat R2.

R12: attach yarn B into any st, (ch1, sc), sc around the row, ss to first sc, fasten off.


Strawberry

Using yarn A, make a mr/ ch4 method.

R1: ch3, 11dc into mr.

R2: ch1, hdc into same st, (4dc), (hdc, sc), 2sc, (hdc, dc), (dc, hdc), 2sc, (sc, hdc), (4dc), hdc, ss into ch1.

R3: ch1, sc in same st, sc around the row placing (2sc) in between 


Detailing

Using yarn B, sew little lines onto the strawberry for seeds.


Leaves

Using yarn C, ch4.

Leaf 1: sc into 2nd ch from hook, hdc, sc.

Leaf 2: ch3, sc into 2nd ch from hook, hdc, sc into first ch of Leaf 1.

Leaf 3: repeat Leaf 2, fasten off leaving long tail for sewing.


Circle

Using yarn B, make a mr/ ch4 method.

R1: ch2, 11dc into me, ss to ch2.

R2: ch2, sc into same st, 2dc in every st, ss to ch2.

R3: ch2, *(2dc), dc*, repeat from *to* to end of row, ss to ch2.

R4: (ch1, sc), sc in every st, ss to first sc, fasten off with long tail for sewing.


Assembling

First, sew the strawberry onto the white circle.

Then, add the leaves.

Now you can sew the circle onto the pouch.


Ties

Using yarn C.

Method 1: ch81, sc into 2nd ch from hook, sc along row, fasten off.

Method 2: make a foundation single crochet chain of 80.

Method 3: ch80, fasten off.


Starting from one of the sides, weave the tie over and under every 2 dc on R11. Tie both ends together.

Make a second tie and repeat the same.

R4: ch2, *(2dc), 2dc,* repeat from *to* to end of row, turn.

R5: *ch1, (6dc) in next st, ss in next, sk a st, ss in next,* repeat from *to* another 5 times, 4sc, ss into next st, ch1, (6dc), ss into top of ch2 from last round, fasten off.

Reattach yarn to first sc from previous row, (ch1, sc), (3dc), sc, ss, fasten off.

Palestine Headband - Free Crochet Pattern

Pattern Notes

  • Colour changes are shown by the letter, eg: [B] means switch to Yarn B.

  • Beginning ch1/2 doesn't count as a st.

  • Beginning chain should fit comfortably across the top of your head from ear to ear, you can add/take away the green, white and black stitches to alter it easily.

  • When working on R1 of the straps, place your stitches anywhere along the side.


Headband

[A] ch45, [B] ch25 +1 (turning ch)

R1: sc into 2nd ch from hook, 4sc, *5dc, 5sc* x2, [A] *5dc, 5sc* x4, 5dc, ss down the side of the dc to get to the first ch.

R2: worked into the other side of the foundation chain, ch2, *5dc, 5sc* x4, 5dc, [A] *5sc, 5dc* x2, 5sc.

R3: ch2, *5dc, 5sc* x2, [C] *5dc, 5sc* x5.

Without fastening off for the first one, work the straps on either side of the headband.

Book Sleeve with Pocket - Free Crochet Pattern


Materials

Hook: 5.5mm

Pattern Notes

Turning ch2s don't count as a stitch, except for the pocket.


The Sleeve

Using yarn A, ch32.

R1: hdc into 3rd ch from hook, hdc across the row (30).

R2-16: ch2, hdc across the row (30), fasten off.

Repeat rows 1 to 16 to form the other side.


Pocket

Make a mr/ch4 method.

R1: into the ring ch2, 2dc, *ch2, 3dc* 3 times, ch2, ss into top of first ch2.

R2: ss across to the first ch2 sp. (ch2, 2dc, ch2, 2dc) in sp, *(2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next space*. Repeat from * to * twice more, ss to first ch2.

R3: ss across to the first ch2 sp. (ch2, 2dc, ch2, 2dc) in sp, *(3dc) in next sp, (3dc, ch2, 3dc) in next sp*, repeat from * to * 2 more times, 3dc in next sp, ss to close. Fasten off.

R4: Attach yarn B into any corner sp. (ch1, 3sc, ch2, 3sc), (3sc) into next two sps, (3sc, ch2, 3sc) into corner, repeat around square, fasten off.


Joining

Sew the pocket onto the RS of one of your pieces.

Holding both pieces together with the WS facing each other, attach the yarn to one of the top corners.

R1: ch1, sc in same st, sc along both sides and bottom. In both corners, place (sc, ch2, sc). 

Note: you can put the sc wherever feels right along the bottom, I like to put one sc in the side of every hdc and one in between them.


Top

Sc along the top of the sleeve, one side at a time instead of both together, fasten off.


Tie

Attach your yarn into a stitch near the middle of the top, on the back piece. Ch 20, ss into the st 2 stitches away from where you started, fasten off.


Button

Sew on the button.
